Firefox keeps saying to update Acrobat Reader plugin yet system is up to date with v11.0.08 according to Adobe.

When I check plug-ins to update, firefox says Acrobat Reader plugin is out of date, so I proceed to update. During initial installation on the Adobe site, it won't complete, informing me that version 11.0.08 is already installed.

This is a known issue with the update checker. If the programs web site says you are up to date, then you are fine. Don’t worry.

Hi donens, two things:

(1) The Mozilla Plugin Checker considers everything other than the latest Adobe Reader DC to be outdated. That version probably would not work on Windows XP, so I agree with sticking with Adobe Reader XI (11).

(2) There are numerous security patches available for your Adobe Reader XI, since the current release is 11.0.17. Now... Adobe doesn't make it easy to download that version. Instead, you can update by either:

(A) Using the built-in updater: In Adobe Reader, open the Help menu, then Check for Updates.

(B) Downloading from the release notes page: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotes/11/11.0.17.html (likely to be a much bigger download this way)
