I am downloading what is supposed to be 49.0.1 and when I install it it's actually 45.0.1. What's going on?

The question above says it, I'm downloading the latest Firefox from Mozilla, it says it's 49.0.1, and when I install it in Applications (Mac) it is identified as version 45.0.1.

Different Mac than what you used to post here?

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0

If so, see this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-osx

Sorry for the delay.

Two different Macs. Both running 10.11.3

I just tried it again and It's still doing it.

I just tried a Firefox update instead of a fresh download.

It did not change the version # shown in Finder, but About Firefox says it's 49.0.1. Mmm?

So, mission accomplished, I have the latest on one computer, but it's still baffling that a fresh download won't work. I'll experiment on the other Mac and see what happens.

Thanks
