Please note: I don't need to be told to: - Go to settings and increase text size - Use Reader Mode

These are the standard answers given here on Mozilla Support, and they are not relevant in many cases.

As many other FireFox for Android users have reported, Chrome renders page text just fine. If you use Chrome Settings to increase or decrease text size, those adjustments affect the size of the text on web pages.

No so in FireFox for Android.

Using the functionality in FireFox Settings via: Settings>Accessibility> Text Size and then selecting one of 5 text sizes, this selection has absolutely no effect on the size of any text, on any webpage I've seen.

This has been reported over/over again by FireFox users, and they are either ignored, told to use Settings, or told to use Reader Mode. That's it. FireFox is an awesome browser - thanks for that. But being unable to modify the size of text on a page is totally unacceptable! Made worse by being told to do basic things that don't solve the issue.

Is FireFox able to increase text size (or decrease if needed)? If so, how?

kbrosnan: This is PERFECT!

I read about making a change in about:config, but I typically saw warnings about pages not rendering correctly if you change this value.

I see no such issues. Sure, there is text that now wraps in titles for instance, b/c the text string is longer due to increased size. No worries here. This is exactly what we have come to expect from Chrome.

**Former Chrome Users**

Just set the value reference above to either 4.0 or 4.25 and pages will render with excellent readability - exactly as they do in Chrome.

Fixed. Thank-you!!

The text size option only applies in rare cases when Firefox gets a desktop website. Going to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Main_Page&mobileaction=toggle_view_desktop for example the text is enlarged.

If you want to scale everything you can try opening about:config and setting layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 2. You don't want to set the number lower than 1.0 and you probably don't want to go above 4.0. You can set fractional numbers as well, 1.75 for example.
