Does the license allow me to distribute the Firefox for Android apk to employees of my organization with modifications (including app wrapping)?

I am interested in possible deploying Firefox for Android to some users in my organization. We plan to deploy the app via our enterprise app store and this will require integrating the app with an MDM's SDK. Is this permitted by the license or do any of the proprietary binaries in Firefox for Android preclude this?

Hi

Thank you for your question. This is one that I will have to look into in more depth and speak to some fellow Mozillians about.

This may take a couple of weeks, are you happy to wait?

Hi

Given that it could take a while, I did some digging and found these two items that you may find of use.

(Type about:license into the address bar in Firefox) - this is the software license for Firefox. It is long and made of up of lots of different elements, outside of the core Mozilla Public License 2.0 under which the core code sits. I am not an expert on software licenses, but this will tell you what you can and cannot do.

MPL 2.0 FAQ - this is a reasonably plain English guide to the Mozilla Public License with answers to some common questions.

I hope this helps answer your question.
