is this true ? Firefox dev team can release an update. The vulnerability allows an attacker to execute code on your Windows workstation. The exploit is in the wild, meaning it’s now public and every hacker on the planet has access to it. There is no fix at the time of this writing."

hi gcroft1, yes this general vulnerability in firefox was brought to mozilla's attention a short while ago. a fix for it is in development and testing right now and will be pushed out to users as an update to firefox 50.0.2 later today.

a workaround in the meantime would be to disable javascript in the browser by default, then websites will be unable to exploit the vulnerability. you could use an addon like noscript for that purpose: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/
