3rd day of new Dell Windows 10 laptop. Installed FF 53.0.3 (32 bit).

While scrolling a webpage, browser periodically but frequently takes off on its own at high speed and scrolls up or down the page at high speed.

Have used FF for years, never encountered this.

Windows 10 issue or FF issue?

Help please.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
