I saved my Profile Folder to a thumb drive, but how do I now get that folder to my new computer?

I followed the instructions in the article "Moving Thunderbird Data to a New Computer," and I copied my Profile Folder to a thumb drive. Now I can't run Thunderbird without the thumb drive plugged in. I tried to create a new profile in a new location on my c: drive, but that doesn't seem to work because I still can't get Thunderbird to work without the thumb drive plugged in.

copy the profile.ini file from the thumb drive to the equivalent location on your new device. Any better?
