I manage 9 email accounts in Thunderbird. Some are for business, some personal and some are literally just set up to receive automated email alerts.

I have a unified inbox which displays new email for all those accounts. If possible I'd like to divide that inbox into categories, for example so I can just view the business emails at one time.

Currently the hierarchy looks like this and I can click on "Inbox" to view all new mail in all accounts:

Inbox

   ¬Account1
   ¬Account2
   ¬Account3
   ¬Account4

I'd like it to look like this, and to be able to click on "business" or "personal" and view all emails from just those accounts:

Inbox

   ¬Business
           ¬Account1
           ¬Account2
   ¬Personal
           ¬Account3
           ¬Account4

Is this possible?

I don't know of any way to do this. The closest you might come is by using favorites view
