Windows 7 - Firefox is set as default browser (always) However hyperlinks clicked in Thunderbird insist on opening in IE which is annoying. I know that there is a false/true statement in FF's config to stop this happening but I don't know what the statement is. Anyone help on this one please?

Go to Preferences/General and flag Always check if Firefox is your default browser, as shown in the attached screenshot.

Thanks but it's already ticked as 'Always check FF is the default browser' but it NEVERTHELESS opens any Thunderbird hyperlink in IE. Very annoying. I think the answer lies somewhere in FF config file on a false/true line.

Try setting IE as the default browser, then do the same again for Firefox afterwards.

If that doesn’t help, try setting IE as the default browser, uninstall Firefox, reinstall it (keep 54 for now), and choose to set it as default browser at first prompt. You should not lose any settings.
