I am hoping to set up thunderbird with two new emails and one gmail account so that my dad can later download thunderbird on his computer and access the accounts I have set up. My dad lives in a different country so I dont have access to his computer. PLease can someone take me through the process I need to follow?

Let him run the Thunderbird 'New account wizard'. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/automatic-account-configuration

He'll need the email address and the password of the account you set up.
