The FVD add-on in Firefox allows Vimeo users to illegally download my Vimeo video files

I just noticed that the FVD add-on in Firefox 56.0 illegally allows Vimeo users to access and download my Vimeo video files from their Firefox browser, even though they are not set to download in Vimeo. Vimeo says they have no control over 3rd-party theft of their content, which is outrageous.

By sanctioning this Firefox FVD add-on, Mozilla is just as responsible for allowing this to happen.

Please tell me there is a fix.

To Pkshadow: if I had posted my contact info I'd be broadcasting the free download of my intellectual property in Vimeo.

My NPAPI Plug-in was up-to-date, but, you're right, I had an outdated PPAPI Plug-in that I don't need. Thank you for the heads-up. I've removed it.

I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that the FVD add-on in Firefox was a consensual, even licensed, arrangement between NimbusWeb and Mozilla's Firefox. That is why I posted the problem here as a start.

Thank you for listing NimbusWeb's general support contact info. But I'm happy to report that my outreach to NimbusWeb's legal@everhelper.me, as specified in their Privacy Policy that I posted above, generated a rapid and cooperative response. They're going to add my Vimeo URLs as exceptions to their next FVD update.

To FredMcD, thanks for suggesting that I contact FVD in the first place. That set me on the path to my solution.

Although this may not have been Mozilla's problem to solve, the fix now lives in the web for others like me, an independent artist, who suddenly has to scramble to protect their intellectual property.

I consider this problem solved.

Mozilla has no control over 3rd party programs such as add-ons and plugins.

You would have to contact FVD support.

I'm posting this Privacy Policy by Nimbus, maker of FVD, to help other forum readers who share my concern. Although I found it in an Opera add-ons webpage, the information is not browser-specific.

Posting that here will do no good. Nor does it even mention your program or your URL or you contact info. So suggest you take this to FVD and send the owner a Copyright and take down notice team@nimbusweb.co & http://nimbusweb.co/contact.php Since the program turns up in a google search Send a take down notice to google.
