Suddenly when I click on a link, say a news story at google news, it doesn't go to the page, it goes to a blank page which is a firefox "redirect notice" asking if I want to go. This is a pain... I wouldn't click on the story if I didn't want to go. Anyway how do I turn this off.

Hi  !

Yes, that's no longer in Preferences.

You can now do this :

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (pormise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : accessibility.blockautorefresh and set its value to false

Close and restart Firefox.

It was already set to false.  :(

As I am not 100% sure what exactly it is that you want : If you’re looking to enable redirect warning, you should change the above preference value to true from (the default) 'false'.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Ghostery, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

In addition to what cor-el just said :

Your system details show that you have 'Ghostery 7.4.0.5' installed ......

You inadvertently marked my post as 'Chosen Solution' - you can rectify that by clicking on the 'Undo' button to the right of that post.

I'm glad everything is back to normal, though  !

I am also having this problem. It started about three days ago out of nowhere. I have had Adblocker and a couple of other pop-up blocker add-ons for months and this just started happening a few days ago, so I know its not any extensions. I am running the latest version of Firefox and like I said before this just started happening about two or three days ago. I tried the above option with the blockautorefresh, but as the above person stated mine is already set to false, so why is it still redirecting me?
