Hi. I can not belive that I still use a version from 2010. It's 3.1.6. and of course, it's time to update to a newer version. When running the update it did not say that it will update my current (3.1.6) version. I don't want to loose all my emails locally on my laptop. So, the question is, do I make a backup of all the email content before istallling the new version? Can I import mails backup-ed with version 3.1.6 with the newest version? Thanks for helping out. Best wishes, Mika

A backup never hurt anyone or anything

Close Thunderbird. Press windows key +R type %appdata% and press enter.

Backup the folder named Thunderbird (and it's sub folders) in the appdata or application data folder that opens.

Ok backup complete, run the install that should run without any issues at all.
