I'm trying to print a page that contains background colors with color enabled on the site and my printer, but all Fire Fox prints is in black and white.

When you use the Print Preview screen, the Page Setup button is easily accessible to confirm that background colors and images are enabled. You should see them in preview.

If you don't see colors in preview, could you check using another browser? Many sites use a different style sheet for printing than they do for screen (I sometimes do that on my sites). In that case, you would expect similar results when you preview the page in all browsers.

If you see colors in preview but they don't show on the printout, try the "Properties" button in the Print dialog and see whether you find anything that switches the printer from color to black and white there.
