I logged into the Dennie's restaurant WiFi. That seemed to go well. When I clicked a Victoria's Secret tab FF sad that the Victoria's Secret cert was invalid or some thing like that and would not let me add an exception or go to the tab. Dennie's WiFi is not secure and does not require a password. How do I tell FF to warn me and let me go to the site anyway. There are several sites that have the same problem.

Did it come up with a security block asking to confirm VS site? And also it could be their Guest wifi is blocking sites they deem not valid or that they can determine what site you go to since you use their wifi. That last one is a possibility the management at their site considering Dennie is a family restaurateur don't want people opening VS pages in their restaurant.

When this occurs, can you access non-secure addresses like

http://www.example.com/

On a public hotspot, you often need to confirm that first because the hotspot redirect you until you to accept their agreement.

Next, on the error page, please click the Advanced button to show more technical information. You can copy/paste from there into a reply.

The most important point is the SEC_ERROR code. If you get SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER please see the following article:

How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites

More generally, see: What do the security warning codes mean?

Does that help in tracking down and resolving the issue? If not, please reply with the error details. Thanks.

I'll be trying out your input tonight. I'll let you know.

I marked this solved. I purchased a phone that gives me unlimited hot-spot access so I won't be trying to use the Dennie's WiFi any time soon. I guess I was hoping for an explanation why logging on as a guest does not actually get you to the internet. I ran into the same problem with Walmart. I think in that case I was offered an option to add an exception. I don't remember. If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he eats for life.
