I have a pc and my wife has a laptop. When I delete an email out of my inbox (before she can retrieve her emails) that was meant for her she can no longer get it off of the email server. How can I delete an email without it effecting her?

If you are using IMAP that is how it works. IMAP is sever based. You view messages on the server from your devices. If you delete a message from any device or the server it is gone. How to fix. Stop deleting your wife's mail. Better yet get a separate email address for her. With all the free email providers and the number of addresses included from your ISP there is no reason to share addresses.
