While my computer was in the hospital reverting to Windows 7 from Windows 10, my Thunderbird address book has disappeared. I have run Recuva. How do I find the address book in over a million files? Where does Thunderbird store it? I would also like to recover my e-mail files if possible.

Where is your profile stored? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=profiles-tb#w_where-is-my-profile-stored

So I guess your first task is see if your backup even contains the profile folders. Most backup software does not backup folders in the hidden appdata folder.

Thanks, Mark. Turns out Altex does a mirror before they work on the pc so they should be able to restore my missing files.
