can't get rid of bigsearch.com as I can't access addons under the tool bar
I have been getting redirected from all sites to bigsearch.com with lots of popup windows. I tried to go into addons but it keeps redirecting me to google.com to their search engine. Please advise.

HI, This could be an issue caused by AdAware or Web Companion from Lavasoft.
You can look for a file named dsengine.js in these locations. You should only find channel-prefs.js in the "defaults\pref" location. Any file found here apart from channel-prefs.js is suspicious. You can check the content of the file in a text editor (use open with and do not double-click the file).
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\ C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\ You can look for a file named dsengine.cfg in the main Firefox program folder. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
Delete the dsengine.js and dsengine.cfg files when present.
Regardless if can not find any off the above : Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech :
Save your Report and google each before deleting anything as do not want to delete something you need, If need help :

so I didn't fare well with most of your suggestions but I did download and install Adware Removal Pro for Mac and it removed and cleaned it all up. Thank you.
Hi, glad it is gotten rid off I hope, as the reviews are not kind to that program.
The fact that the same developer released Adware Doctor and Adware Removal should be a warning sign. Why have two apps when they should both do the exact same thing? Just download https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/ .
Malawarebytes didn't remove it.. and this one did
