Hey guys,

I was using an older version of firefox 52.0.1 and accidentally pressed update to the newer version. I installed the older version 52.0.1 back from the directory. But when I did that I lost my tabs, my bookmarks, and my browsing history. Unable to restore my tabs, I decided to try to restore my bookmarks.

I read somewhere to delete all the places.sqlite in the profile folder and then firefox would start up with the most recent bookmarks in the bookmarks backup folder. So I deleted the places.sqlite including the ones that had a dash (-) behind them. Not realizing that it would delete my browsing history which had no backup folder like the bookmarks do.

So I was able to get my bookmarks, but not the browser history. Is all my browser history lost? Or is there still a way to get it back? Please help.

If the deleted places.sqlite can't be found in the Recycle Bin, try using an application like Recuva to try to recover that file. Otherwise your browsing history is "history".
