I need help deleting folders.
I tried to delete my archived folder, in it was a sub folder called 2017, deleting that gave me an error.
then an archive folder appeared and I tried to delete it and got this error: command argument error, 11.
Then I tried to delete my notes folder as I won't use it and it gave me an error saying it cannot rename system folders.
I now have 10 folders, inbox, drafts, sent, archives, junk, deleted, archive, deleted notes and outbox.
Is there a way to get rid of some of these folders? I don't need them.
I'm using a screen reader called NVDA, if that helps.
I've tried the following: 1. removing my account and adding it back. 2. removing thunderbird from my laptop and adding it back. 3. Trying to go to live.com and pressing enter on archive but nothing happens, it just says there's nothing here.
I've also asked on reddits' Mozilla subreddit.
I pressed print screen to try to take a screen shot but it didn't seam to work. So sorry, I don't think I'll be able to give you a screen shot.

Thanks for your patience reporting this problem and requesting help.
That's an IMAP server error. Is this a GMail account ?
I found this old bug report, it may provide some hints: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=815087#c25
I can't spend more time on this for now, I'd suggest emptying the Trash and deleting folders using the web interface if you have access to it. If this is an IMAP account all changes will be reflected on you next Thunderbird sync/"Get Mail" operation.
Hi. Thanks so much for your help.
it's a live account. Live.co.uk
I can't find any of the folders that are in Thunderbird apart from my inbox on the live.com website.
Hello.
I've tried to make a screen shot. I hope it works.
I'm trying to show the amount of folders I have.
Great! The screenshot worked.
Thunderbird can't use most of those folders as they are intended to be used from Outlook applications. See https://kb.wisc.edu/office365/page.php?id=32691 for more details.
To hide the m in Thunderbid, just unsubscribe from those folders. See this article for more information on IMAP folders subscription.
I have another screen shot, I've taken a screen shot of the subscribe section.
I can't find any folders to unsubscribe to.
Can you see the folders?
Your screen reader might not be reading them to you, but the notes folder is clearly visible in the image you posted.
Then that's an accessibility issue.
I'll create another thread and put a link in it to this topic.

This is not the forum for accessibility issues. Those you will have to file in bugzilla. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Product: Thunderbird.
Hi.
Everything is fixed! I had to update to the latest version of Thunderbird and the screen reader reads the subscribe window perfectly.
