I had this same problem. I was sure it was related to my antivirus somehow with the antivirus certificate not being permanently accepted. Anyways I was never able to resolve on my existing (Windows 7) laptop. I recent got a new Windows 10 laptop and set everything back up with TB 60 (and same antivirus) and everything is working fine. I had some issues with the latest Firefox upgrade as well and did a new install with that one as well and seems to be working fine now. No idea if it was the new TB version or Windows 10 or what caused the fix but I'm wondering if you just need a fresh install sometimes after years of upgrades

Was this prior to version 60? And did it get better with version 60?

I incorrectly stated earlier that the problem seemed to disappear with the upgrade to Version 60 (Windows 10 / ESET NOD32). After using the program for while the same problem remains. The save permanently option does not work long term. While Thunderbird remains open it is fine. However after closing and restarting the program the same pop-up appears every time. When looking at the certificate history it does appear the exception is saved but unfortunately that exception does not seem to apply the next time a new copy of the program is opened and instead many exceptions are saved (one for each time)

Having the same issue with Windows7 (and latest TB running). Its becoming an unacceptable pain. The problem pre-dates the latest TB update which has not cured the issue.

I have two computers. On this one - laptop - I have suddenly experienced inability to send because I'm asked to enter a password. It still won't work. My other computer - desktop - works fine. What's going on?
