for quite some time the "reply as original recipient" addon fixed a missing option in thunderbird: namely that you can have 1 address, 1 identity, and a crapload of aliasses, and still have your from address correct.

i use 1 address: address@mydomain and then make an alias everytime its needed (i.e. amazon@mydomain) and use sieve to move it automatically into the right folder based on the alias. when i want to reply, i obviously want to reply with amazon@mydomain and not address@mydomain.

this worked fine with reply to original recipient, until one of the latest thunderbird updates and it just stopped working...

i would ofcourse prefer that this functionality be put into thunderbird itself, but if anyone can point me to another working addon or help me get this one back working, that would be much appreciated.

creating additional identities is NOT an option, since that would mean i would have to create an identity for every webshop or website i register to...

after searching some more, i got to fix it by going to the original authors blog (which i had done before) and installed an update released on the blog earlier this week by Samuel Kirschner which repairs the functionality.
