I CAN install and run and out of date Firefox browser, but I've been having PC issues thought maybe running the old browser was the cause of my issues, but it isn't because I'm now using Firefox Quantum 64.0.2 (64-bit), and my PC issues still persist. This problem is unrelated to the problem I am talking about today, which starts below:

The new problem I am having is that a couple of days ago, it just started, no Youtube comments load when I click on a video to watch. If I click on the notification bell, I can read the comments in there, and if I click to watch a video I commented on, if that video has 525 comments, I might be able to see 30 or 40 of those comments.

If I go to www.youtube.com and left click on a video to watch, no comments load. The video loads fine, and I can watch videos. When I scroll down, there is no loading circle, and no comments.

I went to Internet Explorer, and in Youtube, all comments are showing up. On my phone, all comments are showing up. Today I had notifications that some of my previous comments were liked.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1, 32GB RAM, AMD FX-8300, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB GDDR5, on board sound, on board lan. Firefox addons are Adblock Plus and Quick Dial. I was running this version of Firefox just fine, and a couple of days ago, I noticed that the comments aren't showing up. I had both of these addons installed, and comments did show up, now they aren't.

Does this problem only occur when you are logged in? For example, if you open the same YouTube URL in a private window, where you are not logged in, are the comments visible or invisible there?

(I ask because Firefox users sometimes have more problems logged in to YouTube than logged out for some reason.)

I'd guess it's likely Adblock that is causing the issue. Content blockers are great, but sometimes they detect things that aren't actually ads and block them.

I recommend trying Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the issue occurs with everything disabled.

Okay, so as I initially stated, " I had both of these addons installed, and comments did show up, now they aren't."

But, I went ahead and ran Firefox in Safe Mode. No change. YouTube comments still do not show up for me in Firefox Quantum 64.0.2 (64-bit).

As I said, it all started a couple of days ago. I've had the addons installed for at least 2 weeks, and the YouTube comments DID work. I got on YouTube a couple of days ago, maybe 2 days ago, and all of a sudden the comments are not there, and there is no loading circle either.

I have not installed anything new within the last few weeks either, so I can see no explanation for why this suddenly happened.

It's a long shot, but when you load a YouTube video, try opening the website console (press F12 on your keyboard or Ctrl + Shift + K). Do you see any messages in there?

If you do, can try attaching a screenshot of some of the message (all if possible). There shouldn't be any messages, although it's not uncommon for there to be some. This will help to give a better idea of what's going on.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by messages. There are various tabs that show programming code, but I'm not familiar with Java, and I don't know what a meaningful Java message would look like.

I have attached a couple of screenshots I took, and in the two tabs, Console and Inspector.

Hello DOSMan007,

This has been happening off and on since last year ....

See this thread (especially the last post) :

https://www.reddit.com/r/youtube/comments/a2vhfn/youtube_comments_not_working/

And YouTube's tweet about this issue :

https://twitter.com/teamyoutube/status/1011727158929121280?lang=en

(I haven't been able to view comments myself for a while, till the problem "fixed itself"..... )

YES!! When I logged out of YouTube, I tried the same exact video. I scrolled down, saw a loading circle, and then, comments appeared!! So I tried another video, and I got the loading circle, and then comments. So what's it all about? Why am I not getting comments logged in, but logging out gives comments? It's been fine for a few weeks, then just one day, boom no comments.

EDIT: jscher2000's post is what I read that made me log out of YouTube and give loading a video a try. Once I did that, comments loaded just fine. So I have marked jscher2000's comment as most helpful because of that.

Now that you have got them to appear, when you log back in, do the comment show?

If not, try the following:

  1. Go to YouTube
  2. Click the green lock icon in the Firefox address bar
  3. Click the arrow next to Connection
  4. Click More information
  5. Go to the Security tab
  6. Click Clear Cookies and Site Data
  7. Click Ok

Does that fix the issue?

NOTE: You may be logged out of any Google services on Firefox when you clear Google cookies.

Yes, comments are now showing after I have logged back in. So what's the issue? Is it a browser problem, or a YouTube issue?

I didn't clear cookies or cache before logging back in.

It sounds like it is probably a YouTube issue, since it appears that it happens to other users across most internet browsers. Glad to hear everything is working now and hopefully it will stay that way.
