Firefox has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.
Last night I did the new firefox update and every since then I have been getting the following error on multiple sites. Including Tumblr, Google, yahoo mail, and many others.
"Network Protocol Error
Firefox has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the network protocol was detected.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."
I have tried searching out the answer on here and most said to just clear out the cache which is what I did and I am still receiving the error at random times on different sites. I can refresh and the site will load but then if I got to another page of the same website or a different site the error will just appear again. Thanks in advance!

As a test, disable the Norton main program(right-click its icon). Then try 'Safe' websites.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.

I started it in safe mode and it wasn't showing the errors so I restarted into normal mode and it seems to not be showing the errors anymore. Thanks for the help!
Update: So 6 minutes after I said it seemed to not be showing the error, the error appeared again.

Did you check the other links I posted?
I did yes, but I can't seem to find the solution. I clicked on the show site information when the error happened and it is saying the connection is not secure. These sites are ones I have been using daily for years and have never had a problem until this latest update. I followed the instructions to to check my network settings and proxy. It was already on the no proxy choice. I'm just not sure where to go from here.

Got some errors with the new 66.0.1 Update. I kept Reloading the sites in question and they are now working. I don't know if it's a FF Bug-a-Boo or what. I'll keep an eye on it.

Isn't this just for Windows 10? I have Windows-7 Tagged here, so I only deal with Windows-7 Q&A here in the Forum.

If the command won't work, the computer will tell you.
Is your problem settled?
Yes. Thank you

Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support.
This problem appeared on my up-to-date Windows 7 laptop in the past 24 hours. Found the following resource: https://www.ostechnix.com/how-to-fix-network-protocol-error-on-mozilla-firefox/
...which does not fix anything, but is somewhat illuminating.
Also found a comment indicating that errors in this arena could be triggered by antivirus programs, with a recommendation to use MS Security Essentials (MSSE aka MSE) rather than Norton etc ... but MSSE is what I've had for several years, and I still received the errors mentioned.
Bottom line is, we haven't hit bottom yet!
