How do I turn off the annoying pop-up that Tracking Protection displays as a site loads?

Okay, I get that the new version of Tracking Protection can't be turned off. But the developers had no right to make a pop-up display as each site loads showing what Tracking Protection blocked. Users need to have the option to turn such notifications off, and between this and the fiasco you made blocking Adobe Flash, I am getting very close to shopping for a new browser.

Never mind. I did a LOT more digging and it turns out to be part of Ghoster, not Tracking Protection. And it CAN be turned off, thankfully.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
