How do I get a website to load the most current info instead of yesterdays' info when I click on one of my bookmarks?

I recently had to reload windows to get rid of a Chrome nuisance popup. Now when I click on something like my USA Today crossword puzzle bookmark, the puzzle won't load. I have to enter the website manually, search for crossword and then I can get the most recent puzzle. If I don't go through this scenario each time I either get nothing or I get yesterdays puzzle. This didn't happen before I reinstalled windows and by extension firefox.
