Hi Kirk

Do you have a Firefox Account, and have you set Firefox Sync to sync browsing history?

I have an account, but did not have sync enabled.

Hi Kirk

Thank you for that, really useful.

The only thing I can think of is that Firefox had not been closed and was running in the background with tabs open that rich media content or were constantly updating (such as a video or social media feed).

Well, I THOUGHT I had closed it, but I may not have. I am one of those really weird people that doesn't use social media on my phone, so that's not it. And I had thought I had turned video autoplay off.

So, let's say that I did forget to close it, and left a rich media tab open. That still doesn't explain why it went through so much MOBILE data, while it was connected to WiFi that at last test would run 35mbps. It shouldn't have been using mobile data at all.

Hi Kirk

I do not know what else to suggest. If you are not syncing your browsing history and are not browsing rich high file size content, I am not sure what could be causing this issue.

Well, that's why I have uninstalled Firefox from my phone. Since that point, I have used only 132mb of mobile data. I note that several others have had this issue recently, and that no one seems to have a good explanation for it. It would seem that the only solution is the one that I used- uninstall the app.

Hi Kirk

I am sorry to hear that, but I hope that at a later date you can come back and give Firefox Preview (our new mobile browser) a try.
