In my native language (Portuguese ) I use letters like: ç, ã, í, à.. Each time i send a mail with Thunderbid, instead of those letters, the receiver gets: o. I've already changed my character encoding to UTF-8, ISO 8859-1, ISO 8859-2 , and problem remains. What can I do to solve this?

Note1: The subject text of the mail is ok. The problem is on field text. Note2: I use Thundrbird to manage my yahoo and gmail e-mail acount. And the problem is on both.

Thanks in advance for any support.

I haven't seen this problem with gmail, but Yahoo smtp servers have a well-known issue with encoding special characters that can be fixed by switching a preference:

Does that help with your yahoo or gmail accounts?
