Firefox doesn't generate passwords containing symbols which some websites demand. Can we change it?
I tried to use automatic password generation option in Firefox on a website. That website requires us to have a symbol in password. But autogenerated passwords in Firefox have no symbols in them(Chrome does). Can we somehow get Firefox to do it?

Hi srimanswamy, there is a bug on file to add this, but it's sort of quiet and it doesn't seem anyone is working on it.
For now, you need to add a symbol yourself, i.e., trigger Firefox to fill the generated password, then type symbols, then submit, then confirm to update the saved login. Perhaps it is safer to visit the Logins and Passwords page and make the edit there? Not sure; I hardly save any logins.

Thanks. I will manually add a symbol and make sure that that password is saved!!!!
So is this being worked on at all? I came here for the same reason, to ask how to alter the generating tool's password generator to include symbols and to make them 30 characters in length.
The bug links you post seem to say that Mozilla won't ever be fixing this which kinda makes me wonder why they cared enough to add a password generator in the first place, if this case is true.

The bug is open with Priority 3 (feature request, not urgent). To me that means at least 6 months, unless someone is assigned to pick up the Lockwise bugs sooner.
