Now I've been wondering about this for a short while, web creators are finding new ways to spam us, I've noticed a new form of spam which is making me cringe, in the Tab itself, I now see CONSTANT warning about New Messages from a website, this is not very different than old website that use to use blinking fonts to make it impossible for you not to pay attention ...and anger you at the same time. Is there a way to stop this fake notification in the Tab?

The warning about the fake new message (the messages are real but spam), are constantly blinking, now you can imagine this eventually leads to a very high degree of anger after a while. And if you try to dismiss the spam, it just happens again. This is a new way of again, blasting the web user with spam by force, by absolute force.

Hi narcangel, please ignore the spam reply with an unofficial support number.

Do you mean the (2) that appears on the tab for the page (up on the tab bar), or something in the page itself.

The text on the tab is pulled from the title in the page (<title> tag). I don't think you can prevent pages from updating their title tags, but it may be possible to use an add-on to override the title if it gets changed.

You can possibly consider to pin this tab. That will probably still give green dot to indicate that the title has changed, but that can be fixed via userChrome.css.

Yeah it's a bit difficult to describe it without a video but the "(2) New messages!" will disappear and than the title of the tab will reappear and the (2).. will reappear every 1-2 seconds. The messages are real, spam base but real, once you dismiss them, they come back with more fake messages, always spam so it is a new way to spam by targetting the Tab title which is totally impossible for the eyes to ignore.
