Everytime I try to use the search function (Ctrl+F) my firefox hangs for like 15 seconds, and then says "not responding", after the 15 seconds I can continue using firefox and even the search function, but having to wait 15 seconds everytime really is a pain. I already tried disabling hardware accel. with no luck. I already tried disabling ALL my extensions and addons/plugins manually, but didn't work either, first tried disabling them 1 by 1, and then disabling all at once, none worked.

With safe mode the problem is gone, so that suggest that it is something I cannot change manually, or a plugin that I cannot disable manually.

Any suggestions? Thanks beforehand

Hi Koutta,

This sounds to me like it could be something system related.

Have you tried any of the suggested solutions in this troubleshooting article? : Firefox hangs or is not responding - How to fix

Hello Koutta,

If it works properly in Safe Mode, and disabling add-ons and hardware acceleration didn't make a difference : do you by any chance use a theme ?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems

BTW : extensions are no plugins (in your system details you listed your extensions under "Plugins" .... )

I use the default theme, just an hour ago changed to "dark theme" to test if that changed anything but didn't.

And sorry about the plugin mistake. I have 2 plugins that says "automatically installed by firefox" that is something about "OpenH264" and something about "widevine" (sorry my system is not in english so can't translate the whole name".

My last plugin, and the only one I stalled myself is Shockwave flash, already tried disabling it but didn't work. Also already updated it.
