Thunderbird is just hanging today. No changes made to anything on PC since it was OK yesterday. Checked online email account and it's fine. TB opens, lets me read an email and reply to it but then it says it's sending to Sent folder but nothing happens and window locks up. Can't close the program apart from through Task Manager. Can't access any menus from top tabs as a very narrow grey box with no options on it pops up when clicked on. Anyone else having this issue today?

What OS are you using? What Anti-Virus product are you using? Is this an imap or pop mail account?

Is it possible you have an Anti-Virus scanning the outgoing email or scanning the 'sent' folder when accessed?

Please do this test: Exit Thunderbird and all other programs that are running. Reboot the computer in 'Safe Mode with Networking' mode. start Thunderbird and try to send an email. Please report back on results.

Even more strange - it's back to normal today. Still no changes made to anything here! Thank you for your suggestions though. I wonder if the server was having issues.
