I can't restore my Thunderbird profile

Recently Thunderbird crashes on my Linux and I couldn't fix it, so I decided to remove my current profile and recover one of my old profiles from my backups. Unfortunately I was not able to restore my profile as I many times did.

The problem is that after creating a new profile using profile manager and coping the old one over it, Thunderbird doesn’t see the content of my old profile (mail accounts, calendrers etc), although it recognizes the profile itself (I can tell that from the Synchronization settings (TbSyn), here I can see my account!).

I have tried the Tips in the following threats (Modify profiles.ini, delete ".parentlock") on Linux and Windows, but sadly nothing has helped. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1270964 http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_a_missing_profile http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder_-_Thunderbird http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profiles.ini_file

How do I get Thunderbird to see the content of my old profile?

Thanks in advance

You could be doing something wrong with the process or you have an incomplete backup. Describe the steps you take to restore backup profile.
