I just want to let you know that Thunderbird 79.0 Beta 3 is not working, it will prompt password pop up but it won't start. I needed to go back to 79.0 Beta 2 to open the app again. I am in a Macbook Pro under OSX 10.11.6 (El Capitan)

Do you know what is going on?

Thank you!

Gekose oplossing

Hi reset. Sorry for the troubles. Yes, we detected a problem with 79.0b3 related to Mac addressbook and immediately stopped updates to 79.0b3. This will be fixed in 80.0b1.

You will want to download http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/79.0b2/mac/en-US/ - it will not update to 79.0b3. It will update to 80 when that becomes available.

Thank you for using beta.

We have not seen this in testing. What do you see when you start?

Nothing, It just won't start unfortunately.

Do windows-key + R Then thunderbird.exe -safe-mode -jsconsole -P At the Thunderbird profile selector prompt the last profile used should already be selected. Pick "start". At the safe mode prompt pick the continue in safe mode button.

What do you see on the screen, particularly the Error Console window?

Since you use the old OS X 10.11 https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2020/06/23/update-on-firefox-support-for-macos-10-9-10-10-and-10-11/

I am talking about the latest Thunderbird beta release, the beta 81 beta 1 is not working, it just would not start. Beta release 80 beta 5 is still working for me. Thanks

I am aware this was about Thunderbird. Just informing you about Firefox and that the Thunderbird community could make this change with Thunderbird at some point.

Hi, just to report, beta 81 beta 2 is not working for me either. I just re installed the Beta release 80 beta 5, which is the last beta to work on my 2008 MBP.

Since I have to stick to the betas, for I cannot go back to the current official release, could you please tell me, how do I get that ESF version you mentioned? Thank you
