I want to change the search/address bar to a strictly address bar only with no search function at all. Can this be done? If I type a word in I just want it to automatically prefix it with www. and suffix it with .com and go to it. For example, when I type allelectronics it does the following: 1. Suggests or autocompletes to allrecipes.com

I've never been to that website so I don't understand why it's doing that and I don't want it to do that.

2. When I finish typing allelectronics it does a google search then I just click the first result which is

allelectronics.com which is where I wanted to directly go to. I don't want a google search or the google
icon to even be next to the address bar.

Instead I want it to directly go to www.allelectronics.com. Also it seems redundant, because there's an icon for google search on the home page.

I've done this in desktop Firefox by changing keyword.enabled to false. There's no about:config support in the regular Firefox so I tried Firefox nightly. In that I set: keyword.enabled = false browser.urlbar.oneOffSearches = false browser.fixup.alternate.enabled = false

None of these settings have had any effect.

Just go to Settings,

Select Search,

And disable what you want to!

That was the first thing I did. No effect.
