When I send an email two copies appear in the sent folder. I am using outlook. I have tried every suggestion online from Thunderbird and Microsoft. Nothing seems to work. I even uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it. When reinstalled it still had my previous email address and all contacts in my address book Help!

Change the Account Name to something other than the address, like writerbpIMAP. Each account should have a distinct Account Name.

Outlook.com and gmail automatically copy sent messages to Sent, so uncheck 'Place a copy in' in Tools/Account Settings, Copies & Folders.

This is the message I get when I try to open Copies & Folders (see attached). I have uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it to see if I could delete an account that may be interfering.

It worked. After all the websites' advice I tried, you solved the issue in a couple of sentences. Thank you! Best regards, Anne
