Hi bees1, this question was posted under iOS (iPhone/iPad) but I think you are asking about Firefox on a Mac.

Customize Tab

You can check the Customize tab for extension icons. More info in this article:

Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars

If your icons do not appear there, either, please see the next issue.

Allowing Extensions in Private Windows

A common issue recently is users switching to automatic private browsing. You can see whether you use this mode on the Preferences page, Privacy & Security panel, History section. Either of these will trigger that:

  • Firefox will: Never remember history
  • Firefox will: Use custom settings for history +
[x] Always use private browsing mode

If you have either of those, you need to specially enable extensions to run in private windows. Here's how:

Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Command+Shift+a (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading. Your installed extensions should appear.

If an extension name does not have a purple mask icon next to it, click the extension name to display the Details panel, scroll down and set the permission here:

You will need to repeat that for every extension you want to be able to run in private windows.

Was that it, or is there still a problem?
