I have never agreed to not use a password with paypal with my firefox browser. Today I was let into my paypal account without being asked for my password. How do I resume being asked for my password?

To keep your PayPal account safe, go into your browser settings in the top right corner, and open logins and passwords to modify your saved preferences. You may choose to remove PayPal as a saved option.

Thank you Mikaylajwilson bu this did not solve my problem

I opened logins and passwords but Paypal was not on the list. Like I say I never authorized saving my password or bypassing my password. I'm concered as to how this happened.. and how to stop it from happening again.

Details like websites remembering you (log you in automatically) are stored in a cookie. You can remove the Cookies for a website to make this website forget about you.

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

Thank you Cor-el, but given these directions, I was not able to figure out how to remove the cookies. I found options, but no options/preferences and did not find Privacy & Security or any place to clear cookies. So I still need help.

Hi, try deleting ALL references to Paypal. To do that, open the 3-bar menu > Library > History, then click the Show All History link at the bottom of the list to open the History-library window. Search for Paypal by typing it into the Search History field in the top-right corner. Now in the search results, right-click on Paypal, and select Forget About This Site. (Browsing and download history, cookies, cache, active logins, passwords, saved form data, exceptions for cookies, images and pop-ups for that site will be removed). Give it a few minutes to complete the deletion, then try the site (not from an old bookmark) again. More - Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox.
