I have Excel files stored in a Google shared folder. These are all macro enabled (.xlsm) files. When I attempt to download to my local drive using Firefox the file is changed from .xlsm to .xlsx resulting in all the VBA programs and functions inactive. This only happens with Firefox - current version is 84.0.2. Downloads using Chrome and Edge are OK.

Has anyone else experienced this and how can I fix this.

Just as a test I would suggest trying a newer version(install to a separate folder)to see if it works for you. I was able to download a sample file from my g-drive with no issue. see screenshot

I would try the Beta, Dev, or Nightly which is what I'm using. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
