Uploading files caused Firefox to stop responding and it never recovers

more options

Anytime I try to upload a file (like a resume) to a website using the file upload dialogue, opening the file causes Firefox to completely stop responding. closing the dialogue box at that point causes Firefox to close. If I wait it out, Firefox does not recover.

I have reset Firefox. I have cleared my startup cache. I have restarted my computer. The problem has persisted for weeks despite numerous attempts at fixing it.

I can't upload a screenshot for obvious reasons.

Is this with all uploads or just one site?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Yes. The problem is still there.

I do want to update this with some information I just found out. It's not all file types. .docx causes the problem where .rtf does not

hello cm,

ideally, you should instead upload and send out such documents as PDF's.

a pdf removes all the codes that are part of the document.

a pdf is also smaller in file size needed for emailing.

if you do not have a pdf maker or word2019, you can upload your docx to the microsoft one drive cloud.

then using the online version of msword, you can open that docx and download it as a pdf.
