When I switch tabs, then return to the first tab, that tab often reopens at the top of the page rather than part of the way down where I left it. Is there a way to force Firefox to remember and return to the tab as I had left it?

I assume that the problem you are facing is similar to a previously discussed problem. It could be caused by your computer being low on memory. You can view here for more info: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1259963
No, I read that discussion, but my computer has plenty of memory and Firefox can be the only program running.
