All the emails in my inbox folder are blank, emails in other folders seem ok. I tried starting is safe mode and also restarting with add-ons disabled and resetting toolbars and controls, but this has not helped.

Do you mean you can see the list in Thread pane, but selecting to read an email is just blank ?

If this is an imap mail account...logon to webmail account using a browser and see if there are any emails in the Inbox.

TRy

  • right click on Inbox folder and select 'Properties'
  • click on 'Repair Folder'
  • click on OK
