disable https permanently for specific sites
Firefox developers need to add a feature that allows us to block https mode for specific sites & allow us to use http ONLY!! I am sick & tired of going to certain sites with http in my url & Firefox forces https. If the developers don't fix this immediately, then I & my 7500+ business clients I look after are ditching Firefox forever.
I've tried all the posted items ref this issue from the forums in the about:config section to no avail. Doesn't work whatsoever.

If the server doesn't have a certificate installed and doesn't support a secure connection then you should be able to create a permanent exception by clicking the padlock.
If the server supports HTTPS but isn't working properly and needs HTTP then creating an exception is more difficult.

Note that you need to keep the Site Preferences to keep exceptions.
- clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data
