The following issue has existed for every version of Firefox after 73.0.1. Cannot open hotmail or gmail if you are running uBlock Origin! The only way you can open your emails, while having uBlock Origin set to on for those two websites is to hit the browser refresh button and enter your email account password in again! There are no issues in Chrome with uBlock Origin with the identical settings within uBlock. Someone should figure out what architecture was changed after 73.0.1, which is causing the issue. I should not be required to disable uBlock for the hotmail and gmail websites just to be able to open those email accounts. It would be nice if someone was willing to address this issue, finally.

Have you contacted uBlock support on this?

Load the web page. After the page is loaded, click the uBlock icon. Now select Disable on <website>. After, reload the page.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I am not sorry to state, but the issue is with Firefox and not with uBlock. When I updated my desktop to the next version after 73.0.1, the issue commenced. And I am not sorry to state but who ever made changes to the architecture of Firefox after version 73.0.1 wrecked it! My notebook is still running 73.0.1 very effectively. Am am certain that every Firefox user will disagree with me, but that was the last version that has worked trouble-free.

To answer your question, NO, I did not contact uBlock because I am 100% certain that the issue is not with uBlock. Like I said, works perfect in 73.0.1. And it works perfect in the current version of Chrome with the identical settings in uBlock. Regarding your other comment on disabling uBlock for that website, perhaps I didn’t send the correct message when I was quoted as saying… “I should not be required to disable uBlock for the hotmail and gmail websites just to be able to open those email accounts.” So, YES, I was well aware of that feature years ago. The point of the matter is by disabling uBlock for Hotmail and gmail DOES NOT address the underlying issue.

I rarely have time to report an issue. Frankly, I am would be quite surprised if I was the only one who had difficulty with this issue. I only report legitimate issues in hopes that someone actually representing Mozilla would address it. The writing is on the wall with this matter. Someone wrecked the browser after 73.0.1, and that’s all there is to it. There are too many updates in any given year with this browser. Although I prefer Firefox over Chrome, in the heart of the matter, when Chrome is updated, I have NEVER experienced the browser getting wrecked by an update. That makes a statement on the people running Chrome.

Again, people, the issue pertains to whatever was altered in Firefox after 73.0.1. I cannot give it to you more accurately than that.

Perhaps you should look elsewhere for the answer. I have had no problem opening gmail with uBlock Origin installed. I am currently using Firefox 91.0.2.

Your first statement only sustains merit if you are running WIN 7. Otherwise, it's an apples to oranges comparison.
