I'd like the option that is opposite of this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1273260

Need to see and re-edit the full url "http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" for whatever I have entered in the address bar. This might not always be the case for everyone so why not put an option for this.

Can you give an example of what you currently see and what you would prefer to see?

If you want to see the "http://" at the beginning of insecure URLs, there is a preference for that:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future. Since we have had this setting for a long time and I use it myself, I feel comfortable mentioning it.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.urlbar.trimURLs and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.urlbar.trimURLs preference to switch the value from true to false

You're done, you can close that tab now.
