I frequently receive messages with large attachments. All my incoming messages, other than junk or spam, are copied to a local folder. As the local folder gets larger, this copying process gets slower and less reliable. How do I change the Message Storage Type of my Local Folders to file-per-message?

At the bottom of Preferences/General, you can choose between mbox and maildir (see picture).

But I don't think copying to a local folder should be too affected by its size, unless there's an external app such as antivirus scanning the profile folder. The general recommendation is to add the TB profile folder as an AV exclusion.
