I cancelled Spectrum as my cable internet provider and went with TMobile WiFi internet. When I switched my gmail account worked fine, but I am unable to send/receive emails with my Thunderbird account. TMobile was unable to figure out the problem. Do you have any answers? Dennis Kudlak

Are there two email accounts involved, Gmail plus another? Or are you saying gmail is the account that you are unable to access with Thunderbird? What error messages are you seeing?

Hi, David,

I have a HP desktop computer with two seperate email accounts. I have a Lenovo lap top computer with gmail. Since I disabled my Spectrum internet cable and went to TMobile home wifi internet everyting seemed to operate properly except my one email account on my desktop computer using Thunderbird for emails. For some reason on my one Thunderbird account a majority of my incoming email are going to my laptop computer with gmail? I have no idea why. The other email account on Thunderbird seems to send & receive email ok. I've checked the settings on that server and they are the same as the other account that I'm having a problem with. I have no idea how or who is sending my incoming emails addressed to my Thuderbird account to my gmail account?

Please describe which accounts are on each PC. I am inferring you have gmail on both? Are all accounts IMAP? Please define those also. That may help. Thanks.

I"m still trying to piece this together. You disconnected Spectrum, but you are keeping the Spectrum account for the two Spectrum accounts? Is it possible that when you separated from Spectrum, the emails are being forwarded to Gmail? Changing ISPs is generally painless unless one or more of the email accounts is tied to the outgoing ISP.

Hi, David:

My two Thunderbird accounts were with Spectrum. My incoming email would go to Spectrum's Web Mail account and then they would forward it to my Thunderbird email on my desktop computer. Since I terminated Spectrum cable--there is no Spectrum Web mail. I installed TMobile Home internet (WiFi) and connected all my computers TV's to TMobile. I have no problem with my Lenovo laptop computer- I connected it to TMobile and everything works fine.

I had to disconnect my ethernet on my desktop computer (HP) and connect it to TMobile wireless. It connected, but I'm having a problem receiving emails & sending emails on one of my email accounts on HP computer. I have identical account settings on both emails. I am confused why my emails being sent to one of my email accounts on the desktop HP computer are being received on my laptop Lenovo computer which has gmail. I can't figure that one out

Call Spectrum. Somehow, your setting with them has caused this forwarding. It might be a customer support feature for leaving customers. Something people sometimes forget is that when they switch from an ISP, they most also set up a new email id and set it to accept forwarded mail. And it's possible you have Gmail set up that way. Whichever way it goes, I believe there may be no THunderbird issue, but only one of transferring your account. Good luck.
