When i try to update Firefox on Android, it tries to "stage" an unknown app, and crashes. Then a pop up saying "Action not allowed" shows up. Please do help as i cannot sync since i am on a EOL version of Firefox mobile

Hi

From the information provided with your question, you are using Firefox for Android 97 - the latest version.

What makes you think that your version is end of life?

1. This is not the device i sent it from because it keeps throwing certificate errors 2. It runs on Android 4*

Hi

Firefox for Android is not designed to run or work corrcetly on Android 4. You will need to be using Android 5 on your device to be able to make use of Firefox for Android and have it work correctly.

Well, Then i would have to force update the device and make it even slower than it is already

It takes like 5 minutes to boot up

That may be the case with older versions of Android that do not have the improvements included in more recent versions.

Or older hardware

That may also be a factor as well. As mentioned, Firefox for Android is not supported on versions of Android lower than 5.
