You can check that those pages aren't set as multiple homepages.

You can check the homepage setting in "Settings -> Home".

Firefox supports multiple homepages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

Thanks for your reply. There is only one home page, but two tabs open simultaneously.

When installing in /opt, Linux Mint or Firefox does not recognize it as a proper installation. This change is the result of this spring's agreement between Firefox and Linux Mint.

I had to install in /opt because previously, one of the many modifications by Linux Mint overrode Firefox policy.json settings. I complained about it to Linux Mint on Github, and elsewhere, pointing out that Linux Mint should not be using the Firefox name, if it was modified fundamentally.

Now, I installed their version, 101.1 and hope that this agreement is for the better for the users.
