Reading the so many posts about the loss of data after migrating from TB 91 to TB 102, I have to suggest the following no failure procedure for windows OS.

Do not install directly TB102 as an update on a TB91 profile.

When TB91 is installed -Export contacts, calendars files. -In case of POP3 accounts backup emails saved locally using Import-Export Tools NG. -In case of IMAP accounts emails stay on provider's server (So do not worry).

Uninstall TB91 -Delete Thunderbird folder in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local -Delete Thunderbird folder in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming

Install TB102 -Create a profile -Create your accounts -Import calendar files previously exported -Import your contacts -Install Import-Export tools NG (new version for TB102) -Import your emails using Import-Export Tools NG

No more worries. TB 102 works as a charm.

Did you actually migrate all 65 users?

It is an advice of experience. I want all users to feel confident and enjoy using TB as I do. So moderators will have less job to do correcting mistakes of stupidity.

The best way, as I see it, is to wait until ver 91 offers the upgrade, which it does not yet do. What I have been advising users with 91 is to wait. The release notes for 102 are clear on that. A clean move to 102 does not eliminate bugs that are in the code.

I use TB since initial version and imagine I'm 62 years old bu very experienced with windows desktop applications. I confirm that I'm very happy using TB and I never had problems with it. I faced many times problems with the addons. I'm sure that if I wait till my 70's for the code of TB to be perfect then I've been foolled. Every time the developers did a big jump of TB developments such as from 78 to 91 for 91 to 102, I always follow the steps I described above and same steps have recommended to my friends. Them and I really face no problem using TB.

The only problem I has with ver. 102 was that TB kept asking many times for the passwords of my accounts when received or sent emails. This happend 2-4 times and suddenly stopped doing so.

The only serious problem I face now has to do with the cardbook addon. I uninstalled it till it reaches a more reliable version.

I was going along fine with 91.13 up to yesterday -- then 102.2.0 was dumped on me overnight without notice. I'm trying to fix some message filters and get the system to recognize folders it knew well up until this morning, but what I really want right now is to go back!
